Job Summary:
• An experienced Senior Domestic Abuse Officer is required to lead and manage a team within Children’s Services, focusing on safeguarding families affected by domestic abuse.
• The role involves working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment to support parents, carers, and children, ensuring effective interventions, risk management, and service delivery in line with safeguarding and performance standards.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Lead, supervise, and develop a team of Domestic Abuse Officers and practitioners.
• Manage and maintain domestic abuse programmes aligned with safeguarding and performance targets.
• Work collaboratively with social work, health, and partner agencies to improve outcomes for families.
• Assess, manage, and escalate risk, including high-risk domestic abuse and child safeguarding cases (MARAC/MAPPA).
• Support the development and delivery of training and service improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and continuous improvement of safeguarding services.
• Ensure effective case management, confidentiality, and adherence to organisational standards.
• Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery.
Skills/Experience:
• Strong experience in domestic abuse case management and child safeguarding.
• Proven ability to lead, supervise, and develop teams within a social care or community safety setting.
• Skilled in risk assessment and management, particularly in high-risk situations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and partnership-building skills.
• Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing and whole-family approaches to safeguarding.
• Ability to analyse data, evaluate outcomes, and implement service improvements.
• Familiarity with MARAC, MAPPA, and multi-agency safeguarding procedures.
• Competence in policy implementation, quality assurance, and performance management.
• Understanding of equality, diversity, and ethical practice in public service.
Additional Information:
• The closing date: 02/11/2025.
• Location: Office-based with some remote working flexibility.
• Hours: 37 per week.
