Head of Risk Management - Operations
About This Role
We're seeking an experienced and customer-focused Head of Risk Management to develop and oversee our first line risk strategy for Capital One UK's Operations Teams.
You will work in the first line of defence, collaborating with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks within the UK Operations function.
Senior Risk Managers at Capital One are highly motivated, possess excellent organisational and communication skills, and have high exposure across lines of business. They work closely with Executives to create and implement innovative risk mitigation solutions.
What You'll Do
1. Report to the Head of Risk in the UK, contributing to the design and delivery of our risk management strategy.
2. Lead the Operations Risk team, advising the Head of Operations and leadership team to achieve objectives effectively.
3. Stay updated on regulatory changes and support related projects.
4. Support process management teams to maintain high standards for process ownership, risk management, and controls.
5. Interface with business partners, Tech, legal, compliance, and assurance functions to reduce risk.
6. Analyse data and reporting to generate valuable business insights.
7. Design and influence internal governance processes aligned with enterprise standards.
8. Assess controls, learn from issues, and glean insights across business areas.
9. Manage and deliver key risk-related programs and initiatives.
What We're Looking For
* Experience as a senior Risk leader, preferably in a regulated industry.
* Critical thinking skills to understand business processes, risks, and controls.

* Ability to build influential relationships with stakeholders.

This is a permanent role based in Nottingham, with a hybrid working model: three days in the office (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays) and flexible options for remote work.
