Derby College Group (DCG) are recruiting for a Curriculum Support Assistant in Arboriculture. This is a fantastic opportunity to support curriculum delivery and effectively manage resources.

The Opportunity

Step into an outdoor, hands-on role where no two days are the same and your work supports the next generation of arboriculture professionals. Youll support practical teaching sessions, prepare equipment and resources, and help maintain a safe, professional learning environment. Working closely with teachers and students, youll manage tools, facilities and chemicals, ensuring all activities run smoothly and safely. This is an ideal opportunity for someone practical, organised and safety-focused, who enjoys teamwork and making a real impact in an education setting while supporting hands-on learning in arboriculture.

About You

You are a flexible, practical and well-organised individual who works confidently both independently and as part of a team. You have experience in a technician or curriculum support role, with a strong understanding of Health and Safety requirements and First Aid. Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, you have the physical capability to undertake practical and manual tasks and always work in a professional, methodical and safety-focused manner. You will support staff and students through the preparation, maintenance and safe management of specialist equipment and resources.

You must hold the following qualifications: Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of a Manually Fed Wood-Chipper; Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-Cutting; and Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Felling Small Trees up to 380mm.
