Here at ISS, as one of the UK's leading Facilities Management (FM) providers, we are looking to recruit a Junior Project Manager to join their central Sustainability team, where you will take ownership of numerous small to medium projects to improve inter company Sustainability performance.
Based in the central function, and working with more experienced Sustainability and Project staff, these projects will be more carbon focused, for instance driving the effort to replace diesel vans with electrical or hybrid models, managing the installation of EV charging points, interrogating the supply chain ensuring the company works with the best, most sustainability responsible partners as possible.
Given the size of the organisation and the different segments this role will expose you to, a major aspect of the position will be stakeholder management, being able to manage different stakeholder interest, knowing when to push back, and when to accommodate. This is especially key, as a lot of this role is Change Management and will require to encourage others to adopt new ways of working.
We are happy to consider both developing Project professionals with an interest in Sustainability, to Sustainability staff looking to specialise within projects.
Actions will include:
* Identify and develop project opportunities for the delivery of carbon emissions reductions and enhancement of environmental and social sustainability
* Liaise with relevant stakeholders in key accounts and customer organisations to plan and implement specific carbon reduction projects and programmes, including the gathering and analysis of appropriate data.
* Develop a range of ‘playbooks/Toolkits’ that define best practice for Sustainable Workplaces, covering sustainability in each of the service lines.
* Develop engagement programmes for the dissemination of ‘playbooks/Toolkits’ to individual sectors, making any necessary amendments to suit the client needs.
* Coordinate and report on the progress of carbon reduction projects across the business, providing regular status updates and flagging any key issues as they arise.
* Support the ESG Reporting Manager on the development of a range of engagement programmes that directly support the sustainability commitments and drive change.
* Support the Supply-chain Carbon Manager on engagement with key suppliers and manage specific project opportunities.
* Work with the Carbon Manager to develop the NZC FM Partnership Programme materials, including reporting dashboards and guidance documentation.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of sustainability goals and initiatives across UK& Ireland
We need from you:
* A core knowledge base in either Sustainability (ideally Carbon) or Project Management with a drive to upskill in the remaining area
