We are seeking to appoint a full time (32.5 hours / 5 days per week), fixed term Teaching Assistant to support the Class Teachers at Riverside Primary School across the Key Stages from Foundation Stage to Year 6. This may involve working with a class or supporting a child on a more intensive basis, providing 1-1 support. You may also be required to deliver intervention programmes under the direction of the Inclusion Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide teaching support in small groups and where necessary work with individual pupils to the highest standards
2. Assist the implementation of individual programmes for pupils and help monitor their progress
3. Undertake specific duties identified by the class teacher
4. Maintain a positive, supportive attitude within a team
Requirements:
5. NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards
6. Experience supporting children with Autism and/or Speech and Language difficulties
7. Understanding of a range of behavioural needs, with the ability to support children displaying challenging behaviour
8. Proven experience contributing effectively to learning in a classroom environment
9. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
10. Strong commitment to helping all children reach their full potential
11. Caring, compassionate nature with genuine regard for children’s wellbeing
12. Enthusiastic, energetic, and adaptable approach to work
13. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
