Specialist Physiotherapist – Unscheduled Care
Position based at University Hospital Ayr. Band 6.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality physiotherapy care to patients within Unscheduled Care.
* Support the Physiotherapy Team Lead in managing an efficient, equitable service.
* Act as a specialised physiotherapist, assessing and treating adults with multiple co‑morbidity requiring admission or home intervention.
* Treat conditions including falls, reduced mobility, new cardiac event, following detox from alcohol, renal issues, respiratory issues.
* Provide mobility practice, new walking aid, respiratory chest clearance techniques, therapeutic handling, discharge planning, physical activity, movement and exercise.
* Engage at local and national level with clinical interest, policy development and service development groups (Bariatric equipment, Frail elderly, PJ paralysis, Falls pathway).
* Reduce physical ill‑health symptoms through physiotherapy specific interventions and improve flow of patients through the healthcare system.
Qualifications and Experience
Band 6 physiotherapist. See attached person specification.
Hours and Contract
37 hours per week, 5 days over 7. Participation in on‑call rota is a requirement. Permanent basis.
Driving Licence
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
