Purpose Statement
Responsible for supervising and managing activities directly related to the daily business needs, including direction and leadership, daily production workload, quality oversight, cross‑training, skill development, and time‑off approvals/hours worked. The position is under limited supervision and requires moderate discretion and independent judgment for development, analysis, and delivery of information.
Key Job Accountabilities
* Assign work assignments based on daily department needs and ensure quality products are produced to meet department metrics.
* Conduct people‑leader activities such as approving time off, performing performance appraisals, coaching, disciplinary action, and maintaining company policies and procedures.
* Communicate daily schedules, goals, and quality issues to employees, other shifts, and support staff, including supervisors and managers, to ensure customer expectations are met.
* Ensure employees are trained on appropriate assembly build instructions and comply with all applicable training requirements.
* Intelligently flex staff to meet customer schedules based on training and skill sets.
* Support and lead improvement initiatives, actively working to improve safety, cleanliness, product quality, and efficiency, including generating innovative solutions to complex problems.
Education / Experience Qualifications
* Minimum of a high‑school diploma required; an associate’s degree preferred.
* Two (2) years of related experience required; two (2) or more years preferred.
Other Qualifications
* Basic decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
* Basic supervision and team‑building skills.
* Good communication skills.
* Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.
* Basic data analysis and presentation skills.
* General office equipment and materials handling.
Physical Requirements
* Ability to sit and/or stand for the duration of shift.
* Ability to reach at waist and occasionally above head.
* Ability to carry up to 4.5kg (15lbs) and lift up to 20.4kg (45lbs).
* Use of fine motor skills and occasional use of hand tools.
* Ability to push, pull, bend, kneel, and/or stoop frequently.
* Meet visual acuity requirements defined by industry certifications and customer specifications.
