Job Title: Part-Time Finance Manager Location: Salford Salary: c£45,000 per annum (pro rata) Hours: 3 days per week (flexible between 8:00am - 4:30pm) Contract: Permanent, Office based An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part-Time Finance Manager to join a well-established SME based in Salford. This is a hands-on role within a small finance function, reporting directly to Board level and playing a key part in supporting strategic and operational decision-making across the business. This position offers flexibility around how the hours are structured across the week and would suit an experienced finance professional seeking part-time hours within a dynamic, family-run or SME environment. Key Responsibilities: Managing a small finance team, providing leadership and day-to-day support. Preparation and presentation of monthly Management Accounts to Board level. Overseeing day-to-day finance operations including bank reconciliations, purchase and sales ledger, and cash flow management. Managing statutory submissions including VAT and other HMRC returns. Maintaining and reviewing nominal ledgers within the ERP system, resolving any accounting issues. Reviewing existing processes and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing streamlined, efficient controls. Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and internal controls. Building strong working relationships across operational teams to support commercial decision-making. Supporting external stakeholders including auditors and banking partners. About You: Fully AAT qualified, QBE, part or fully qualified ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent). Experience working within a family-run or SME business environment. Proven ability to manage a small team. Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel capability. Confident communicator, comfortable reporting at Board level. Proactive, commercially aware and hands-on in approach. Able to review processes critically and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
