We are partnering with a Higher Education establishment in Birmingham who is looking to recruit for an Assistant HR Business Partner to join a busy HR Advisory Services team. This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) and offers hybrid working (2 days home working) and a salary of up to £48,822 per annum.

The successful candidate must have experience working within a Higher Education establishment or an environment where they have a proven track record building relationships with academics.

This is a pivotal role in delivering a comprehensive HR generalist advisory service across a large organisation, providing expert advice and guidance on a wide range of employee-related issues and supporting strategic HR initiatives when required and would suit a strong HR Advisor who has a proven track record working with Academics to build relationships and provide advice.

Key Responsibilities:

* Providing timely, expert advice to managers on HR matters such as performance, sickness, conduct, grievance, TUPE, and probation
* Leading or supporting HR projects, driving process efficiencies and service improvements
* Collaborating with HR colleagues to resolve complex employee relations issues
* Analysing HR data to identify trends and propose improvements
* Coaching Head of Services and managers on HR processes and develop tools to enhance their capability
* Acting as a role model for organisational values, promoting equality and diversity

About You:

* Demonstrated HR advisory experience across a broad range of HR areas
* Degree-level qualification or equivalent, plus CIPD qualification (or willingness to progress to Level 7)
* Strong knowledge of HR practice, employment legislation, and organisational policy
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills
* Worked with academics currently or previously
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work proactively in a fast-paced environment
* Highly proficient IT skills, including MS Office
* Commitment to continuous professional development and fostering an inclusive culture
