About the role:
Imperial is a world Top 10 university with an international reputation for excellence in teaching and research. The Reservations Team within the Hospitality Department of the Property Division are responsible for optimising bookings and occupancy in our Guest Accommodation activities on our South Kensington Campus. Through these activities, they create a valuable source of revenue for Imperial, which in turn supports our academic community of world leaders in the provision of Engineering, Medicine, Natural Sciences, Business Management, Research and Teaching.
You will be responsible for m aximing revenue and profit of guest accommodation through effective systems, pricing, inventory, yield, and revenue management. You will manage the reservations for the summer guest accommodation bookings, and throughout the year in our visitor flats, to deliver a high-quality guest experience, while maximising occupancy.
What you would be doing:
You will be responsible for revenue management, under the direction of your Line Manager, to achieve targets for ADR and occupancy across the summer season. This will involve implementing daily availability adjustments to the distribution channels, booking extranets, retail, and allocation systems to ensure up-to-date availability and inventory control with the purpose of maximising revenue and profitability for each residence.
You will monitor the performance of different distribution channels to determine which are performing best and what their return on investment is to generate the highest commercial value. You will manage and produce regular sales, revenue, and market insight reports, translating data into actionable business development recommendations for senior stakeholders.
What we are looking for:
Proven experience in a similar position at a hotel, university, or residential conference environment
Experience of effectively organising, managing, training, and developing a team to their full potential
A working knowledge of standards and procedures for reception / hotel reservations front of house services
In-depth knowledge and experience of Kx (Kinetic Solutions) or other relevant computerised hotel reservation or booking systems
Ability to lead and manage a team
Ability to consistently deliver and achieve high standards of quality customer service from all team members and develop initiatives to ensure these are met
Ability to work under pressure, with little direct supervision, to tight deadlines and to adapt to changing situations in a considered and calm manner
Effective oral and written communication skills, with proven competence in communicating with internal and external customers
Proven ability of working towards an objective and coordinating various people/delegating tasks to ensure that team goals are achieved
Change management skills for problem solving to planning and implementation
A flexible approach to working during the core summer period, sufficient to be able to work evenings and weekends, and to be on-call if the Front of House Team require escalation of an issue.
