Pathology Van Driver

An opportunity has arisen for a Pathology Van Driver to join our existing team in the Support Services Van Driver Team on the Chesterfield Site of Derbyshire Pathology.
You should have a good standard of education, a full UK clean manual driving licence and experience of van driving and customer service is an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
The hours of this post are 1 pm to 5 pm predominantly, with flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness between 9 am and 1 pm.
This is an opportunity to join a friendly, well‑motivated team.
Main duties of the job
* Drive for long periods while collecting and delivering pathology samples and consumables to a scheduled route in a timely, professional and friendly manner.
* Deliver and collect internal and external post, including the post room on site.
* Report any issues and document the upkeep and maintenance of the pathology vehicles, solving problems and ensuring the vehicles are roadworthy.
* Build relationships with colleagues and service users, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
* Work flexibly to provide high‑quality customer service as an ambassador for Derbyshire Pathology.
Person Specification
Education, Training and Qualifications CPD Requirements
* Must hold a full UK clean manual driving licence.
* Must have a good standard of general education.
Experience & Knowledge
* Willingness to attend mandatory and non‑mandatory training as required.
* Previous experience of driving a van.
Skills and Ability
* Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team.
* Demonstrate good workload management skills.
Communications and Interpersonal Skills
* Demonstrate the ability to act on own initiative.
