We are seeking a Head Chef or a Sous Chef that want to step up to join our team at Hooked fish & Seafood in Windermere, Cumbria.
As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our establishment. Your main objective will be to ensure the highest quality of food preparation and presentation, while leading and mentoring the kitchen staff.
Responsibilities:
* Plan, organise, and supervise all aspects of the kitchen operations to deliver exceptional culinary experiences to our guests.
* Develop and execute menus that reflect our concept and vision, taking into consideration seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and dietary requirements.
* Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation by monitoring and maintaining high standards in food preparation and plating techniques.
* Manage inventory, ordering, and storage of food supplies to minimize waste and control costs.
* Train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
* Oversee the hiring, training, and scheduling of kitchen personnel to ensure adequate staffing levels and smooth operations.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area.
* Collaborate with the management team to develop new dishes, special promotions, and food-related events to enhance the dining experience.
* Monitor customer feedback and make necessary adjustments to continuously improve food quality and customer satisfaction.
* Stay updated with industry trends, culinary techniques, and new ingredients to introduce innovative ideas to the menu.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven experience as a Sous or Head Chef in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
* Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, flavour profiles, and current food trends.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
* Excellent organisational
* Time management abilities.
* Proficient in menu planning, costing, SOP and inventory management.
* Attention to detail and a passion for delivering outstanding food quality.
* Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the kitchen staff and management team.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and sanitation practices.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
