New Directions Education is currently recruiting for Trainee Teaching Assistants to join a supportive and inclusive SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) school in Belle Vale, Liverpool. The School:
1. A nurturing and specialist SEND school based in Belle Vale, catering to Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1) pupils
2. Supports children with a range of additional needs including autism, communication difficulties, global developmental delay, and social, emotional and behavioural needs
3. Provides a highly inclusive and caring environment, with a strong focus on pupil wellbeing, early intervention, and personalised learning
The Role:
4. Full-time Trainee Teaching Assistant position working with EYFS and KS1 pupils
5. Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or within small groups to help them engage in learning and daily routines
6. Assist the class teacher and experienced support staff with structured play, sensory activities, communication support, and the implementation of individual support plans
7. No prior school experience is required – full training will be provided before starting your placement
The Ideal Candidate Will:
8. Have experience or interest in working with children in early years, nursery, childcare, SEN, care work, social care, youth work, or related settings
9. Be able to provide references covering the last five years of employment or education
10. Be willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service, if not already done so
