Are you a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN/RNMH), Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD) or Registered Pharmacist with the V300 Non-Medical Prescribing qualification?
We are looking for a NMP (non medical prescriber) with experience of working with Children with ADHD to join our growing ADHD Service.
This is currently advertised as a fix termed position/secondment opportunity for 6 months to cover staff sickness. The team has been successful in obtaining investment so this is an exciting time to join the Childrens ADHD service.
Main duties of the job
To provide pharmacological interventions for young people with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder.
To offer advice and support to colleagues in conjunction with the medical team, ensuring this is within their own level of competence.
To provide advice to parents and young people on managing their condition in line with the evidence base.
To follow local and national guidelines in relation to monitoring of clinical observations.
To ensure co-morbidities are dealt with by the relevant professionals by referring on where need identified.
To be a role model to other non-medical prescribers by ensuring best practice is followed in line with the evidence base.
To assist within the scope of management of the locality teams where necessary.

Person specification Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience Essential criteria
* Professional qualification RNMH
* Hold NMC registration for independent non- medical prescriber
* Experience of prescribing medication for young people with ADHD
* Experience in assessment of mental health and risk
Skills and Aptitude Essential criteria
* To impart sensitive complex information where there may be barriers to understanding.
* Can communicate and establish effective working relationships with young people and their families.
