Job Summary
We are looking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist in Liaison Psychiatry. This full-time substantive post is based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary. The team provides a rapid assessment service for individuals aged 16 and over, as well as assessments and advice for in-patients on medical/surgical wards within the acute Trust. The Liaison Psychiatry team operates within the Emergency Department (A&E) and Medical Assessment Wards. Royal Lancaster Infirmary has 387 general beds.
You will participate on the Consultant On Call rota, for which additional remuneration will be paid.
Main duties of the job
* Lead an MDT supported by junior doctors, nursing staff, operational managers, clinical psychologists, social workers, pharmacists and OTs.
* Deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment and contribute to overall patient care for those referred to the team.
Qualifications and Eligibility
* Full GMC registration and inclusion on the Specialist Register of the GMC, or eligible for entry to the Specialist Register within 6 months of interview date.
* Section 12 Approved at the time of commencing employment and have or be eligible to have Approved Clinician Status.
* Remuneration as set out in the New Consultant Contract according to previous experience.
Eligibility criteria do apply. Please note that staff currently employed by the Trust would not be eligible to apply for this recruitment and retention premia.
