Job Description:

Mental Health Assistant in SEN School – Maidenhead

Primary School for Young People with Social, Emotional and Mental Health/Complex Needs

ASAP Start

Are you interested in supporting children with Mental Health issues?

Would you like to build your experience working with Complex Needs and work alongside trained therapists, counsellors and psychologists?

An outstanding specialist school for children with Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs based in Maidenhead in Berkshire is looking for a bright and enthusiastic Graduate to work as a SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with behaviour and mental health issues. Candidates with relevant experience will also be considered. The SEN School is in Maidenhead, and the role is full-time starting ASAP. The SEN children are aged 5 to 11 and require consistent, ongoing support to ensure they receive the highest quality of care and child-centred support. Experience in a similar role would be desirable but not essential.

This is a FANTASTIC opportunity for a mental health assistant to work alongside therapists and psychologists based on-site at the school. You will be mentored, have the opportunity to shadow sessions, and learn from professionals. Plus, you will gain invaluable experience working with Special Needs and Mental Health issues. This role is ideal for aspiring educational or occupational psychologists, therapeutic support workers, or SEN teachers.

The SEMH School is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant who can bring enthusiasm, passion, and experience to the classroom. They want a proactive, adaptable SEN TA who can use their own initiative. Resilience and confidence to work with challenging behaviour are desirable traits.
