We are a forward‑thinking organisation specialising in domestic retrofit, supporting households in reducing energy consumption, lowering costs, and achieving net zero ambitions. Our mission is to deliver high‑quality retrofit services across the UK, enabling a greener and more sustainable future.
Role Overview
We are seeking a qualified Retrofit Assessor who also carries out Pre‑Installation Building Inspections (PIBI) in line with PAS 2035 guidance. This role also completes the supporting Technical Survey for insulation measures. The combined role ensures both compliant retrofit assessments and robust site readiness checks are completed simultaneously, improving installation quality and reducing the risk of delays or design errors.
The Retrofit Assessor will work closely with the company’s Operations team, Retrofit Coordinators, and Designers to provide accurate, evidence‑based assessments that support successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure that the survey and assessment is fully compliant with PAS requirements.
* Conduct in‑person assessments of domestic properties, gathering data on occupancy, energy usage, ventilation, building condition, and installed systems.
* Complete and submit fully compliant Retrofit Assessment Reports to support whole‑house retrofit planning.
* Identify and record any potential risks or limitations related to retrofit measures.
* Ensure resident engagement and communication is clear, supportive, and professional.
* Complete the PAS‑compliant PIBI form as part of the Retrofit Assessment visit, ensuring all relevant areas are assessed (e.g., wall and roof construction, access, ventilation provisions, pre‑existing defects).
* Use the PIBI to identify any technical, logistical, or safety‑related issues that may impact installation.
* Complete Technical Surveys for insulation measures to allow the business to develop an effective scope of work for pricing and compliance purposes.
* Provide clear and accurate photographic evidence and supporting notes.
* Liaise with Retrofit Coordinators and Designers if issues arise that may require redesign or remedial work before installation.
Skills & Experience
* Qualified Retrofit Assessor (e.g., Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Assessment or equivalent).
* Strong understanding of PAS 2035 and TrustMark requirements, including use of approved templates (e.g., PIBI).
* Knowledge of building construction, ventilation and retrofit measures.
* Detail‑oriented with high standards of reporting, documentation and evidence‑gathering.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (field‑based role).
* Experience working directly with Retrofit Coordinators and Installers.
* Understanding of ECO4/GBIS funding processes and compliance requirements.
* DEA (Domestic Energy Assessor) qualification.
* Familiarity with risk identification and mitigation during pre‑works inspections.
What We Offer
* Company vehicle availability or mileage reimbursed if using own vehicle.
* Laptop and/or iPad provided.
* 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays.
* Support with training and CPD, with opportunities for career progression and growth.
* Additional annual leave day for your birthday (flexible to create a long weekend).
