1. The Chares River Development Middle Office team is looking to hire a Senior Business Analyst who will be responsible for working with clients and development to create solutions to improve the client experience, the product feature set, and the strategic position of the CRD Investment Management System.
2. The Senior Business Analyst will become a Charles River product expert and help to ensure that our software products effectively aid our end users with their trading and front office workflows. In consultation with our financial industry clients and internal product teams, they will utilize business and technical knowledge to improve product performance and competitive advantages.
3. The Senior Business Analyst will work within a specific module of the product and several instrument types (equity, fixed income, derivatives, FX, etc.), participating in the full software development lifecycle and contributing as a member of a feature-focused product development team
4. They must be familiar with both financial and technical concepts, with a strong ability to deliver against specific requirement in a timely fashion on a project by project basis.
Responsibilities:
5. Apply detailed knowledge of business requirements and workflows to assist in product development
6. Research and produce business and technical requirement documents
7. Provide product expertise support to various internal parties to ensure the product meets customer expectations
8. Work directly with customers and product management team to gather product requirements and develop feature specifications; involvement in all aspects of the software product life cycle
9. Technical acumen and experience with building APIs, state stores, and integration utilities
10. Partner with development to help develop, implement, and refine features
11. Plan and schedule validation tasks; provide hands-on manual tests; develop verification plans and processes
12. Provide feedback on product performance
13. Review documentation to ensure accurate and complete documentation
14. Provide client beta testing support and train personnel on capabilities of new product releases
15. Assist with the management of project schedules and deliverables
16. Assist implementation and support to resolve escalated client issues
17. Actively participate in the Agile software development process by adhering to the CRD Scrum Methodology including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
18. Participate in group testing activities as needed.
Requirements:
19. 5+ years of software development lifecycle experience, particularly Agile methodologies preferred
20. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation skills
21. Advanced writing skills, including the ability to abstract/summarize highly detailed information
22. Strong analytical skills, including the ability to reconcile conflicting data
23. Ability to translate customer business needs into application requirements
24. Strong technical background
25. Experience with middle office investment management functions
26. Knowledge of API, state store and integration workflows
27. Demonstrated planning and scheduling skills
28. Curiosity and interest in financial markets and trading.
29. Demonstrated ability translating business requirements into comprehensive functional and technical product specification documents
30. Knowledgeable in one or more CRD functional financial areas strongly desired.
31. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with great attention to detail.,
32. Education: BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or study of Business with an MIS background. MS/MBA degree strongly preferred
