A Day in the Life
Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) provides a broad suite of electrophysiology solutions intended to disrupt and lead the market in cardiac mapping and ablation technologies for arrhythmia management. These clinical and economical solutions will enable clinicians to treat patients with safer, faster, easier and with more predictable procedure times and outcomes.
The Field Service Specialist is the primary technical liaison for Medtronic CAS customers. You are also a technical support avenue for the CAS Clinical Field and Sales team. You will be completely responsible for the technical assessment, installation, support, servicing, and maintenance of the Affera mapping and ablation equipment. You will interface closely with the Field Service team and the Sales team to coordinate resources to best satisfy sites and with Quality, Production and Engineering to feedback technical information about our products learned in the field. The region of responsibility will be Western Europe with the focus on UK and Ireland. This role will cover UK and Ireland, but also other European markets, and is a remote position. This means your home/remote location is the primary work location. There may however be requirements to attend a Medtronic location for meetings from time to time. There is a facility-based immunization requirement for this position. Therefore, full Measles immunization is a requirement.
Responsibilities
* Perform site assessments, installations, inspections, verifications, corrective and preventive maintenance to ensure successful implementations of Affera equipment.
* Maintain and submit technical records as per regulatory requirements.
* Input to technical knowledge base and dissemination of knowledge of our products to Sales and Clinical teams.
* Input to service processes to ensure continual improvement and evolution of the Field Service organization. This includes the development and maintenance of Service documentation and procedures.
* Participate in the development and delivery of technical training to our distributors, partners, agents and technically qualified representatives of customer base.
* Facilitate the smooth transfer of new products into commercial launch by participating in all stages of the design transfer into commercial production.
Required Knowledge and Experience
* Technical education, such as a degree in biomedical engineering, or similar background
* Around 5 years' experience in field engineering maintenance in medical devices, aerospace, or other highly regulated environments (medical devices desirable)
* Ability to troubleshoot problems and technically diagnose medical equipment
* Flexibility to travel frequently - the majority of the role will be traveling
* A strong working knowledge in English
* The ability to communicate in other EU languages is a definite asset.
* Experience in Electrophysiology/Cath Labs ideally with mapping/navigation systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
* To perform service tasks across the UK and worldwide when required.
* Install, integrate and test existing and new products in support of programme execution.
* Conduct installation audits and generate installation audit reports for Customer acceptance.
* Diagnose / fix issues on naval platforms in accordance with in-service support contracts.
* Support Factory Acceptance Tests.
* To support other engineers with technical issues.
* Regular travel within the UK (predominantly Portsmouth and Barrow-in-Furness). Your travel will be supported by the use of a company car.
* To take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of other persons around you.
* As required, provide technical support to customers and/or other engineers.
