Energy Home Visitor
Hours: 16 hours per week
Location: Visiting clients in their own homes throughout Arun & Chichester districts, with home and office working as needed
Contract type: Fixed-term, 31st October 2026
Salary: £10, pro rata £25,435.28 FTE)

Job description: Arun & Chichester Citizens Advice are pleased to have received funding from The Energy Redress Scheme to tackle fuel poverty in West Sussex and deliver a vital home visiting service, where our clients will receive essential energy efficiency advice and support.
We are now recruiting an adviser to provide high quality, effective and efficient energy advice to clients in vulnerable situations who require, due to capability and/or complexity of the issue, a home visit to support with tackling fuel poverty. The project aims to empower individuals to make conscious efforts to change energy behaviours, understand how their actions impact the environments and how they can improve the fabric of their home to enable a future where they can live safe and well, whilst reducing their carbon footprint.
The advisers will be required to give full advice on:
· Damp and mould
· Effective use of heating systems
· Energy Performance Certificates
· Small energy saving measures
· Reducing carbon emissions
· How tenants can effectively communicate with their landlord for repair issues
· The Local Authority and Ombudsman and act on the client's behalf where necessary
You must be willing to drive throughout Arun and Chichester, but casework can be completed either from home or in our offices.
Essential:
· Able to work unsupervised
· Use of car with business insurance
· Good IT skills
· Good communication skills
· Commitment to continuous development
· Experience working with clients in vulnerable situations in a non-judgmental way
· Full DBS
Desirable:
· C&G L3 Energy Awareness (training can be provided)
· Advisory background - Although an advice background is preferred, full training will be provided
