About the role

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a temporary Highways Maintenance Operative to join our Regional team to work in Newton Mearns and maintaining roads in East Renfrewshire, East Ayrshire and South Lanarkshire.

What you'll be doing

As a Highway Maintenance Operative you will:
Provide winter maintenance operations including participating in a shift system and winter standby
rota
Be responsible for traffic management
Participate in emergency response on a rostered basis
Civil works e.g. Carriageway patching, drainage and fencing repairs
Cyclic works e.g. Sign cleaning, gully cleaning and grass cutting.

Who we're looking for

The following qualities and experience are essential:
Driving licence
Health and Safety first
Takes pride in work
Honest / Acts with integrity
Flexibility of working overtime or shift patterns to meet business requirements

The following qualities/experience are desirable:
Highway Maintenance, Groundworks or Construction experience
Knowledge and awareness of health & safety procedures and standards.
Class 1 or Class 2 LGV Licence
In receipt or working towards Driver CPC qualification
NHHS 12 AB Traffic management experience
Winter maintenance experience
NRSWA Training
CSCS Highway Maintenance
Driver CPC
NVQ Winter Service
CPCS Telescopic Telehandler
First Aid Qualification
