Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and managing our IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security of all systems. This role requires a strong understanding of computer networking, system administration, and excellent communication skills to provide top-notch customer service to our internal users.
Duties
* Manage and maintain network services including DHCP, DNS, and VPN configurations.
* Administer user accounts and permissions in Active Directory.
* Monitor and troubleshoot system performance issues across various platforms including Windows Server and Linux environments.
* Implement and manage firewall settings to ensure network security.
* Utilise virtualisation technologies such as VMware and Azure for efficient resource management.
* Develop scripts using PowerShell or Bash (Unix shell) for automation of routine tasks.
* Provide technical support to users, addressing issues related to Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint, and other software tools.
* Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard data integrity.
* Collaborate with team members on projects involving AWS cloud services and SQL database management.
* Maintain documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in IT administration or a related field with strong system administration skills.
* Proficiency in computer networking concepts including TCP/IP protocols.
* Familiarity with both Windows and Linux operating systems is essential.
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while adhering to deadlines.
* Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to facilitate collaboration across teams.
* Experience with customer service principles within an IT context is highly desirable.
