Anglian Water is delivering one of the UK's most strategically important infrastructure programmes, we're building two new reservoirs to help secure long-term water resilience for the East of England; securing water supplies for our communities for generations. This is complex, highly visible delivery with significant regulatory and stakeholder scrutiny, where commercial decisions made now will define programme pace, risk exposure and value for decades.
As Commercial Lead - Third Party Agreements, you will set the commercial direction for third-party interfaces across the Reservoirs Programme and lead the negotiations that unlock delivery. You'll operate with senior mandate, securing agreements with statutory undertakers, local authorities and private organisations; protecting critical assets; shaping commercial models and positions; and governing risk and exposure. This is a role for a decisive leader who can move quickly, influence at the highest levels and deliver robust outcomes in a demanding, regulated environment.
What you'll be doing
In this senior leadership position, you will:
Lead the commercial strategy and negotiations for third-party agreements across the Reservoirs Programme
Act as the principal commercial interface with statutory undertakers, local authorities and private entities
Shape and standardise commercial models, Heads of Terms and agreements to ensure value for money and manage long-term risk
Navigate complex regulatory and consenting environments, supporting the DCO process and infrastructure provider investment
Work closely with engineering, legal, environmental and land teams to ensure commercial outcomes are deliverable and robust
Provide clear, evidence-based advice to senior leaders on commercial risk, exposure and opportunity
Lead and develop a growing commercial team through a collaborative, accountable and high-performance culture
What you'll bring
We're looking for a commercial leader with:
Significant experience in complex commercial negotiations within major infrastructure or regulated environments
A strong track record of third-party agreements, asset protection or statutory undertaker interfaces
Experience working within DCO or consenting frameworks
The credibility to negotiate with organisations such as utility providers, national infrastructure bodies and private entities
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge technical, legal and commercial perspectives
Proven leadership experience, able to unite teams around clear outcomes and shared purpose
