We’re BDO. An accountancy and business advisory firm, providing the advice and solutions entrepreneurial organisations need to navigate today’s changing world.
About
We work with the companies that are Britain’s economic engine – ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited and high‑growth businesses that fuel the economy - and directly advise the owners and management teams that lead them.
We’ll broaden your horizons
BDO’s Tax Accounting Group is a national group bringing together tax professionals who specialise in tax accounting and tax audit work. Headed by an equity partner, we can offer an exciting and quality career path for ambitious people.
This role will provide tax audit support on our largest, high-profile audits across various sectors. You will act as a tax accounting specialist for non-audit clients, assisting with complex provisioning engagements, GAAP conversions, carve-out accounting, and acquisition accounting. Clients include FTSE companies, AIM listed companies, large inbound and private equity-backed businesses.
You will manage several tax audits, serve as the main contact with the audit team, and collaborate with junior staff and tax partners. You will also work on ad hoc projects with other BDO teams, applying your tax accounting expertise to diverse scenarios.
You will be a key contact for tax accounting queries within the wider tax and audit practices and involved in coaching and training junior team members.
Skills
We prioritize your growth. To succeed, you should demonstrate:
* Experience in tax accounting and tax auditing, with a desire to specialise further.
* Knowledge of tax accounting under FRS102 and IFRS; US GAAP experience is a plus but not required.
* General corporate tax experience, including advisory and compliance services.
* Strong project management skills, including meeting deadlines, ownership, and team management.
* Experience coaching and training junior staff.
* Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and stakeholders.
* Degree qualification, with CTA and/or ACA or equivalent.
We’re in it together
Mutual support and respect are core values at BDO. We foster a people-centred culture with mentoring, coaching, and professional development opportunities. Our agile work framework ensures connectivity and collaboration, with state-of-the-art spaces and resources to support your growth. We encourage networking, shared learning, and continuous development through events and resources.
We’re looking forward to the future
BDO helps entrepreneurial businesses succeed, fueling the UK economy. Our success depends on our people, and we invest in your future. We adapt and evolve, combining global reach, integrity, and expertise. We aim to shape the future with openness, clarity, and empowerment.
