Job Summary
We are recruiting enthusiastic and committed Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to join our Talking Therapies service across Derbyshire. This 12‑month fixed‑term role involves delivering low‑intensity interventions while undertaking the Post Graduate Certificate from De Montfort University, which starts September 2026.
Responsibilities
* Provide Low Intensity (Step 2) Guided Self‑Help interventions for clients with common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression.
* Attend face‑to‑face clinical training delivered by De Montfort University.
* Work under the mentorship of experienced supervisors to support academic study and clinical delivery.
* Support service needs by attending out‑of‑hours clinics and travelling as required.
Qualifications
Essential
* Undergraduate degree or evidence of previous successful study at Regulated Qualifications Framework Level 5 minimum.
* At least one year of experience working with people who have suffered with a mental health problem.
* Ability to study successfully at undergraduate year 1 level or the equivalent.
* Willingness to travel and provide out‑of‑hours clinics as required.
* Commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion.
Desirable
* Previous mental health experience.
* Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, art therapy, psychology or a related health‑related undergraduate/post‑graduate degree.
Interview Process
* Shortlisted applicants will attend remote interviews in the week commencing 22 June or 29 June.
* Interview includes a 5‑minute role play, completion of a task, and questions, held with De Montfort University.
* Interview panel comprises a Vita Health Group operational manager, clinical supervisor, and a representative from De Montfort University.
Other Requirements
* Applicants must be available to commence the role in September 2026.
* A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required.
* Applicants who have completed an NHS‑funded psychological professions training programme within the last two years are not eligible.
* Applicants must have the right to work in the UK without restriction and be eligible for Home Fee status.
* Employment termination during or at the end of the training may require repayment of training fees.
* All candidates will receive a DBS check at offer stage.
Working Conditions
* Salary: £27,872 per year.
* Contract: Fixed‑term, 12 months.
* Pattern: Full‑time.
* Location: Vita Health Group, Derby, DE1 1BS, United Kingdom.
