Come and join us at Great Western Hospital Swindon as a Chef Manager. An excellent opportunity has arisen to be based at on site as a Chef Manager on a full time (37.5 hours) basis. As Chef Manager, you will have a strong culinary background and be able to lead the team to success. You will be responsible for overseeing the food outlets on site.
Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day kitchen operations to deliver efficient, timely, and high-quality food production.
* Motivate, train, and support kitchen teams to uphold exceptional service and operational standards.
* Oversee preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet brand, allergen, and dietary‑requirement standards.
* Maintain consistency across taste, presentation, and portion control to ensure a reliable guest experience.
* Uphold food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards, identifying and addressing issues promptly.
* Maintain accurate kitchen documentation, including temperature checks, cleaning records, and audit findings.
* Manage budgets, food costs, and labour spend to meet financial targets.
* Control stock levels, ensure effective rotation, minimise waste, and source high‑quality, cost‑efficient ingredients.
* Serve as the primary contact for client and customer queries, ensuring timely and professional responses.
* Gather and act on feedback to improve menus and service, including support for events and special dietary needs.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Chef Manager, Head Chef, or similar leadership role.
* Excellent understanding of food safety regulations.
* Ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Food Hygiene Level 3 (or higher) certification preferred.
