Category Manager – Waste Management (12-Month FTC)

Elevation Recruitment Group are working in partnership with a leading organisation in the heavy manufacturing sector to recruit a skilled Category Manager to join their procurement team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in managing and optimising waste management and environmental services across multiple sites, ensuring commercial effectiveness and sustainability targets are met.
The Role:
As Category Manager, you will take ownership of the waste management category, driving supplier performance and delivering cost-effective solutions that align with business and environmental goals. You will:
* Lead procurement strategy and category planning across waste and recycling services
* Develop strong supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to maximise value
* Collaborate with site managers and stakeholders across the UK to standardise practices
* Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and company policies
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives and explore innovative waste solutions
Ideal Candidate Profile:
We’re looking for a confident, commercially-minded procurement professional who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
* Proven experience as a Category Manager or in a similar strategic procurement role
* Background in heavy manufacturing or industrial sectors preferred
* Comfortable working across multi-site operations
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
* Knowledge of waste management regulations and sustainability practices is a plus
