The Role As Technical Author, you will provide publication support to Ontic UK Operations teams and customers, ensuring that all technical documentation for current and future equipment is accurate, compliant and delivered on time. This is a key office-based role responsible for maintaining and updating technical publications in line with aerospace industry and customer requirements. Review and assess Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs) to ensure compliance with industry and customer standards Incorporate engineering changes into technical publications in a timely manner Create data packs and Statements of Work (SOWs) for outsourced publication activities Manage relationships with external publication houses and customers Oversee review and approval processes with internal and external stakeholders Write and maintain technical publications including SILs, SBs and CDRs Support new product introduction activities and attend technical/programme reviews Drive continuous improvement within publication processes About You We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical understanding with exceptional attention to detail. You will ideally have: Experience in a technical publications role (aerospace experience highly desirable) A degree in a technical subject or equivalent industry experience Excellent written English with the ability to produce clear, concise documentation Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Experience using publications software such as Word, Adobe Acrobat and Illustrator A proactive, analytical approach with strong problem-solving capability You’ll be confident working in a fast-paced, regulated environment and comfortable liaising with engineering teams, MRO staff, customers and external partners.
