Are you ready to take the reins of a growing department and make a real impact? Talbots Law is looking for a proactive, organised, and people-focused Operations Manager to join our Private Residential Property team.
As Operations Manager, you’ll be the engine behind the scenes—keeping everything running smoothly so our lawyers can focus on delivering outstanding service. You’ll manage the non-legal day-to-day operations, support senior leaders, and champion innovation in how we work.
This is not just an admin role—it’s about influence, leadership, and impact. You’ll be the go-to person for finance, compliance, HR, and marketing matters, ensuring our department stays efficient, compliant, and future-focused.

What does the job involve?
* Reviewing and improving processes with an innovative mindset
* Supporting the Head of Department and Regional Heads with diary management and admin excellence
* Partnering with Finance to build budgets, track forecasts, and monitor billing performance
* Acting as the first point of contact for HR, training, marketing, and compliance issues
* Driving recruitment, onboarding, and employee wellbeing initiatives
* Organising training schedules and promoting the department through blogs and social media
* Ensuring compliance with SRA, Lexcel, Law Society Quality Scheme standards, SARs, and accounting requirements
What do you need?
* Experience in a legal environment with strong knowledge of law firm operations
* Excellent organisational and diary management skills
* Strong interpersonal skills with tact, diplomacy, and clear communication
* Confidence with MS Office and case management systems
* A UK driving licence and access to transport (occasional travel required)
