Building Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Croydon
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent (42.5 hours per week)
Salary: £44,880 per annum + company van, fuel card, and benefits package

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational oversight, excellent communication, and a commitment to service excellence. You’ll manage trades and subcontractors, carry out inspections, and ensure compliance with company procedures and industry regulations.
Role Responsibilities
1. Conduct pre- and post-inspections on internal and external tenanted properties
2. Inspect works at height including ladders checks
3. Supervise and coordinate tradespeople and subcontractors across multiple workstreams
4. Oversee responsive repairs to ensure timely and high-quality delivery
5. Ensure all works meet industry standards and building regulations
6. Liaise with the client & their surveyors as required on work orders
7. Carry out monthly health & safety checks
8. Line management of operatives & their performance
9. Provide excellent customer care and resolve issues professionally
10. Monitor productivity, resource allocation, and contract profitability
11. Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, quality, and compliance
12. Compile management reports on operational activities and performance
13. Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols and company operating procedures
Role Criteria
14. A full valid UK manual driving licence
15. Experience in the above duties
16. Proven experience supervising operatives within the repairs and maintenance sector
17. A trade background with hands-on knowledge of building maintenance practices
18. Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multi-trade teams
19. Ability to carry out inspections and assess work against quality standards
20. Comfortable working at height and inspecting scaffolding-based works
21. Strong understanding of responsive repair & Damp & Mould work programmes
22. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
23. Strong customer focus and commitment to service excellence
24. Organisational and planning skills to manage resources and meet deadlines
