Your new role
The successful candidate will play a crucial role, working closely with the rest of the Finance team, leading all aspects of financial accounting including management of the General Ledgers, preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations, tax/statutory reporting andpliance, month and year-end processing, co-ordinating the year. As a member of the senior accounting team, you will be expected to review, check and authorise financial transactions, deputise and assist other accountants with the smooth running of the finance department. The role will have supervisory responsibilities and represents an excellent opportunity to extend your management andmercial skills.
The role will require you to work directly with senior non-financial managers, departmental leads and directors.
5. Preparation and review of statutory accounts for all Grouppanies,
6. Ensuring full tax and statutorypliance of the Group and reporting to the required standards and deadlines.
7. Preparation and filing of statutory tax and other returns for all Grouppanies:VAT, PAYE, CIS, ONS
8. Management of General Ledgers for all Grouppanies
9. Maintenance of chart of accounts, ensuring consistency across all Grouppanies
10. Manage the month-end process, ensuring all transactions are reviewed and processed before period end cut-offs,
11. Preparation and review of all balance sheet reconciliations and lead schedules
12. Taking or rmending all necessary actions for business process improvement
13. Intepany accounting and invoicing, including maintenance and reconciliation of the intepany balance matrix
14. Preparation of monthly consolidated trial balance, profit and loss account, balance sheet and Cashflow statement
15. Liaise with external auditors in delivery of the annual statutory audit
16. Liaise with tax advisors and review Corporation Taxputations for all Grouppanies.
17. Finance team lead, working with operational teams and a third-party agent to prepare and apply for the annual Research and Development Expenditure Credit,
18. Monitor, review and update key financial controls, processes and accounting policies.
19. Maintain ongoing awareness of changes to corporate and tax legislation and provide guidance and advice accordingly.
What you'll need to succeed
20. Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA)
21. Strong technical financial accounting and tax knowledge and experience, including preparation of statutory accounts and Corporation Taxputations.
22. Management experience
23. Strong understanding of financial processes and controls
24. Advanced Excel user
