As a Mind and Body Practitioner, you will provide community-based support, information, training, education, and guidance to young individuals concerning self-harm and risk-taking behaviors. You will be dedicated to improving access to suitable services for young clients with mental health issues, particularly self-harm and risk-taking behaviors.


Main duties of the job

You will deliver continuity of care through effective partnership working and support the daily operations of services by providing evidence-based treatment interventions. You will manage an active caseload, offering structured psychosocial interventions and harm minimization strategies to young people, and contribute to delivering an integrated service through assessment, recovery planning, appropriate referrals, support, and interventions. Additionally, you will develop and disseminate information on emotional and mental wellbeing, offer advice, and promote health and social wellbeing in both group and individual settings.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Evidence of continuous professional development; OCN/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or willingness to achieve within 12 months
* Satisfactory enhanced DBS check required


Experience

* Proven success in therapeutic work with young people in group and one-to-one settings
* Experience supporting young people's mental health
* Knowledge of health and safety, including risk assessment
* Understanding of self-harming behaviors and mental health issues
* Ability to build relationships with stakeholders
* Experience in assessments, risk evaluation, care planning, and evidence-based interventions
* Knowledge of child and adolescent development and mental wellbeing
* Teamwork and knowledge sharing skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Resilience and prioritization skills
* Proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and digital media
* Ability to travel to different locations; car use for business purposes required
