Job Title: Registered Manager Childrens Residential Home Location: Wakefield Salary: From £50,000 per annum (depending on experience) About the Role We are working with a client who are seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Manager for a Childrens Residential Home in Wakefield. This is more than just a management role its about creating a nurturing, therapeutic environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported to thrive. As Registered Manager, you will lead the home with a child-centred approach, ensuring the very best outcomes for children and young people. Youll be responsible for developing a strong, supportive culture where your team feel motivated, empowered, and inspired to deliver exceptional care. We welcome applications from experienced Registered Managers as well as ambitious Deputy Managers ready to step up, provided you bring strong leadership skills and excellent knowledge of Ofsted requirements. Key Responsibilities Provide dynamic leadership and management to the residential home, ensuring it operates in line with Ofsted regulations and best practice. Create a warm, nurturing environment that feels like a true home for children and young people. Promote therapeutic, child-centred practice, ensuring care is tailored to each childs needs and aspirations. Safeguard and protect the welfare of all children in the home. Support, mentor, and develop your team, leading by example and fostering a culture of respect, trust, and positivity. Drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards to achieve positive Ofsted outcomes. Manage budgets, resources, and staffing effectively. Build strong partnerships with professionals, families, and external agencies to support the best outcomes for children. Essential Criteria Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (Children and Young People). Proven knowledge and understanding of Ofsted frameworks and regulatory requirements. Strong leadership skills with the ability to support, nurture, and develop staff. A child-focused, therapeutic approach to care. Full UK manual driving licence. Ability to inspire a team and create a safe, supportive, and loving environment for children.
