Mechanical Contract Manager Retail Construction Leeds based, Hybrid working Salary £50,000 to £60,000 DOE plus company car The role An established retail construction contractor based in Leeds is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Contract Manager to oversee the delivery of mechanical packages across retail fit out and refurbishment projects nationwide. This is a permanent position suited to someone who understands the technical side of mechanical building services and is confident managing projects from pre construction through to completion. The role will involve a mix of office based work in Leeds, site visits across live projects and home working. Key responsibilities • Managing mechanical packages across multiple retail projects • Overseeing mechanical subcontractors and ensuring quality and programme compliance • Reviewing and understanding mechanical drawings and technical specifications • Managing programme, cost control and commercial performance of mechanical elements • Coordinating with project managers, site managers and other disciplines • Ensuring works are delivered in line with current regulations and standards • Attending site meetings and client meetings where required • Managing procurement of mechanical materials and subcontract packages • Monitoring installation quality and ensuring high standards of workmanship • Supporting with commissioning and handover processes What they are looking for • Proven experience as a Mechanical Contract Manager or Mechanical Project Manager within construction • Strong understanding of mechanical building services including HVAC, pipework and associated systems • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications • Experience working on retail construction or fast track fit out projects • Strong knowledge of current building regulations and industry standards • Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets • Excellent organisational and communication skills • Full UK driving licence Qualifications • Relevant mechanical engineering qualification such as HNC, HND or Degree in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering • SMSTS or SSSTS preferred • CSCS card relevant to level • Any additional industry accreditations advantageous What is on offer • Salary £50,000 to £60,000 depending on experience • Company car • Hybrid working model • Opportunity to work with a growing retail construction contractor • Long term career progression This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong mechanical professional who wants responsibility, autonomy and involvement across multiple projects within a fast paced retail environment
