Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a leading social housing refurbishment contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality maintenance and improvement works across the South East. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Slough.

The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will support the commercial delivery of reactive maintenance contracts across a portfolio of social housing clients. You will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered efficiently, profitably, and in line with contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assisting with the commercial management of reactive maintenance contracts
2. Reviewing and pricing works using the NHF Schedule of Rates
3. Supporting with cost control, valuations, and variations
4. Assisting with subcontractor procurement and account management
5. Preparing and submitting interim valuations and final accounts
6. Monitoring job costs and ensuring works remain within budget
7. Liaising with operational teams, clients, and subcontractors
8. Supporting monthly reporting and commercial forecasting
Requirements
9. Experience in a Quantity Surveying or Assistant Quantity Surveying role within social housing, refurbishment, or maintenance
10. Essential: Strong working knowledge of the NHF Schedule of Rates
11. Experience overseeing or supporting reactive maintenance works
12. Good commercial awareness and cost management skills
13. Strong communication and organisational abilities
14. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial systems
15. Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (or working towards)
