What You’ll Lead
As a Procurement Manager you will grow and guide a small team of Procurement professionals, delivering an end‑to‑end service to a portfolio of early lifecycle / New Product Introduction (NPI) products. The role reports to the Senior Procurement Manager (Advanced Targeting) and offers the chance to source and develop a supply chain from the ground up, driving results that will impact the business for decades.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute procurement strategies for NPI and early lifecycle programmes.
* Lead and mentor a team of Procurement professionals, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
* Manage contract negotiations and supplier relationships, ensuring commercial and contractual objectives are met.
* Partner with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, R&D, Finance) to align procurement activities with product development roadmaps.
* Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) and life‑cycle cost (LCM) initiatives across the supply chain.
* Support commercial acumen and contracting management, applying best practices to contract execution and supplier performance management.
* Engage with external suppliers to identify and advance procurement solutions, assessing technology and innovation opportunities.
* Report on procurement performance metrics and deliver insights to senior leadership.
What You’ll Bring
* Contract management experience in early lifecycle / NPI programmes.
* Line‑management / team‑lead experience.
* Degree standard education and/or significant domain experience.
* Commercial acumen and strong contracting management skills.
* Strong collaboration, communication, planning, problem‑solving, decision‑making and continuous improvement skills.
* Ability to influence cross‑functional teams at all organisational levels.
* Understanding of LCM and business processes, applied independently to meet business objectives.
* Knowledge of scenario planning, change management and strategic thinking.
* Willingness to learn, strong attitude and enthusiasm.
* Occasional travel within the UK and overseas (North America / Europe).
* CIPS membership or related qualifications are desirable but not essential.
* Experience in the Aerospace & Defence sector is a distinct advantage.

The role requires pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Additional Personnel Security Controls (National Security Vetting – NSV) may apply, which could require The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
