Anglia Plastics is situated in Biggleswade, just off the A1 in Bedfordshire. We are part of the Oadby Plastics Group, which has branches and additional sister companies dotted all over the UK to provide our customers with the best service possible.

About the role:

A commercially minded leader who can balance customer needs with operational capabilities, working closely with Sales and Production to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, profitable work. The General Manager will foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration across all departments while driving sustainable growth and long-term success.

Responsible for:

•Lead and support the Sales team to drive profitable business growth.

•Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring repeat business.

•Create and implement effective strategies to expand the customer base.

•Work closely with the Production Manager to align scheduling with commercial commitments.

•Ensure accurate data and financial analysis backs all business decisions to safeguard profitability.

•Mentor and motivate the sales team to improve confidence, capability, and customer engagement.

•Promote cross-functional teamwork between Sales and Production to maintain workflow.

•Encourage a proactive culture of accountability and open communication.

•Support and uphold quality standards across all operations.

•Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and regulatory requirements.

•Solve business challenges and customer issues with a balanced, solutions-focused approach.

•Consistently demonstrate and uphold Oadby’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values.

•Carry out any additional responsibilities as required by the business.

Accountable for:

•Team performance and results.

•Ensure all staff adhere to all company policies and procedures.

• Adhering to all QHSE policies and procedures to ensure a safe, efficient and compliant environment.

•Accountable for site security, including locking all access points and activating security systems before leaving.

What experience do you need to have:

Essential:

•Proven ability to lead commercial and/or operational teams effectively

•Strong grasp of sales, customer relationships, and profitability

•Experience working with production to align output with customer demand

•Able to develop and implement plans that support business growth and efficiency

Desirable:

•Understanding of the display, signage, or small-scale manufacturing sectors

•Experience coaching or managing a small B2B sales team

•Familiar with continuous improvement methods to optimise workflow and performance
