Description
This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within the Belfast Team dealing with large loss claims. You will assist the lead lawyer with complex, high-value High Court cases, including casualty, motor claims, and catastrophic injury cases. You will also manage your own caseload of claims valued between £100k-£250k.

Key Responsibilities
1. Manage a caseload of complex injury claims, including high-value multi-track and catastrophic injury claims involving brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, and fatal claims.
2. Handle your own claims valued between £100k-£250k.
3. Communicate with insurer clients, handle queries, and provide updates.
4. Analyze quantum evidence, prepare chronologies, and identify anomalies.
5. Use medical knowledge to identify relevant issues and instruct experts.
6. Draft advice on liability, quantum, and causation issues.
7. Identify next steps, discuss with the Lead Lawyer, and take action.
8. Interview witnesses and draft statements.
9. Liaise with involved parties.
10. Draft pleadings and applications.
11. Instruct counsel and attend conferences, mediations, and court proceedings.
12. Meet performance and quality standards.
13. Delegate tasks and support junior team members.
14. Maintain case management systems.
15. Ensure compliance with LSNI regulations.
Working Hours
35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm, with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. Primary location is Belfast Office.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
* Qualified solicitor or relevant experience.
* Experience in indemnity, liability, and quantum.
* Experience with complex medical issues preferred.
* Critical thinking and quantum analysis skills.
* Good advocacy and communication skills.
* Understanding of case law, litigation, and Court Practice Rules.
* Ability to prioritize, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
* Attention to detail and analytical skills.
* Ability to work within a team and follow instructions.
* Proficient in Word, Excel, and Office.
