The Category Director - Technology is responsible for management, leadership, and strategic direction across technology sectors, ensuring excellent customer service, value for money, and compliance with governance. This role involves professional leadership within their pillar, collaboration with other Procurement Leadership Team members, and potentially deputising for the Chief Procurement Officer.
You will act as a strategic advisor to IT leadership and executives, spearheading digital transformation initiatives, fostering innovation, agility, and competitive advantage through supplier partnerships. This high-profile role requires bold leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to deliver results within a complex organization.
Key Accountabilities
1. Business Partnership: Collaborate with senior internal customers to understand their needs and advocate procurement resources effectively.
2. Strategy Development: Lead the development and implementation of procurement strategies for goods and services to meet business needs and deliver value.
3. Supplier Relationships: Manage executive-level relationships with key suppliers to drive performance, innovation, and ESG targets.
4. Sourcing Activity: Ensure sourcing activities are efficient, timely, and compliant with policies.
5. Resource Optimization: Work collaboratively across categories to optimize resource use.
6. Contract Management: Maintain accurate records and provide insights to drive value and mitigate risks.
7. Negotiation Support: Provide guidance to maximize value and handle contractual escalations.
About You
* Experience leading significant technology estate transformations.
* Proven ability to develop and implement compelling category strategies.
* Accountability for major activities with autonomy to interpret policies and set standards.
* Proficiency with Source to Pay solutions and procurement process optimization.
* Experience in value maximization techniques and strategic sourcing methodology.
* Director-level management experience leading strategic category teams.
* Experience managing complex change and developing business plans.
* Background in significant technology transformational change.
* Experience with SAP.
Qualifications
* Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) qualification.
* Degree with relevant postgraduate experience or qualifications.
