We are looking for experienced A&E or Acute nurses to enhance our team of Band 6's in the department. This role will help in making the group a beacon of training, professionalism and expert care. If you are dedicated and interested in career development within A&E then look no further.
Our A&E Department is a busy and vibrant unit with caring and compassionate staff, who strive every day to give the best and most effective care within the NHS.
As our Charge Nurse you will directly supervise and monitor the provision of nursing care in accordance with individual management plans, maintaining high standards of patient care and participate in the management of the department.
Main Duties of the Job
You will ensure good communication exists between patients, visitors and all members of the health care team, promote harmonious working relationships and safe working practices, cooperate and communicate effectively with outside agencies.
You will ensure information given and received at handover is patient centred, assist in ensuring all staff follow guidelines for written documentation, maintain patient notes and documents and attain excellent communication skills for dealing with distressed patients/relatives who are terminal/bereaved.
Your role involves ensuring the daily workload is reflected in the staffing and skill mix, acting as point of contact for department staff in the absence of band 7 Lead Nurse, ensuring all drug administration is in accordance with legal and Trust policies, performing the role of breach avoidance facilitator and ensuring discharge planning is effective and safe.
You will supervise staff as appropriate, ensure all staff are aware and conform to all Trust policies, ensuring all staff work to achieve acceptable safe standard and quality of care, keep up to date and disseminate evidence based practices and government policies related to care and speciality.

Qualifications and Experience are as follows:
Qualifications
* NMC registered
* Mentorship Programme – Evidence of completion or planned course.
* Evidence of ATLS/TNCC or TILS training ALS
* Practice supervisor/assessor training
Experience
* Significant experience as a Staff Nurse in Emergency Care Nursing

Salary
£38,682 a year Per Annum (Pro Rata for Part Time)
