Join the Grand Central Team as a Finance and Procurement Assistant!

Contract – Permanent

Working Hours – 35 hours per week Monday to Friday

Location – Hybrid Working - York (2 days in the Office)

Salary - £25,000 - £28,000 per annum depending on experience

The Role:

Reporting into the Financial Accountant you will co-ordinate and support the administrative aspects of finance and procurement

What You’ll Do:

Finance Administration

* Responsible for Accounts Payable coordination between GC and the Shared Service Centre.

* Manage and control the Accounts Receivable invoicing and aged debtors.

* Administer customer compensation payment processing.

Procurement Administration

* Co-ordinate the set-up of new and maintenance of existing suppliers, undertaking the necessary checks and obtaining the required information.

* Create Purchase Requisitions for spend within Finance and Business Development Director Budget.

* Undertake routine company buying to support budget holders.

* Maintenance of Oracle iProcurement including setting up and training new users.

* Provide general administrative support to the Finance and Procurement team.

Financial Accounting

* Support the Financial Accountant in submitting the period end and month end management accounts to I Squared through Consolid8

* Provide support to the management accountant on ad-hoc tasks such as financial analysis, forecasting, and cost reporting.

* Play a key role in year-end preparation and reporting requirements and supporting the Financial Accountant in the annual statutory audit and any internal audits, as required.

* Undertake Bank account and Balance Sheet reconciliations.

* Support the management of cash, petty cash, expense claims and VAT returns.

* Provide information in respect of ad hoc/periodic data requests from external and internal stakeholders.

What You Bring:

* Good written and verbal communication skills.

* Competent Excel user and skilled in Microsoft Office.

* Ability to work to tightly defined deadlines, with minimum support.

* Capable of balancing a diverse workload and flexible to react to the business needs.

* Commitment to personal development.

* Experience with Oracle Financials an advantage.

* Previous experience working in an SME highly desirable.

* AAT (or equivalent) qualified or working towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA is desirable

Study support may be available and can be discussed upon successful completion of the probation period
