We are seeking an additional Receptionist to join our well-established team at Cootes Veterinary Clinic. The Receptionist is responsible for helping keep the Practice clean, open, and safe. You will be the first point of contact for clients and the public both on the telephone and in person, so a professional and knowledgeable impression is essential to promote the Practice.
Your role will involve:
1. Delivering exceptional service and a positive experience to all patients and customers.
2. Acting as the welcoming first point of contact for patients and visitors.
3. Managing all incoming telephone calls with courtesy and efficiency.
4. Greeting and assisting visitors warmly and attentively.
5. Handling appointment bookings, cancellations, rescheduling, and follow-up communications efficiently.
6. Responding to general administrative enquiries or directing them to the appropriate team member.
7. Managing administrative tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
8. Addressing and resolving issues related to telephone calls, emails, or paperwork promptly.
9. Processing and recording patient payments accurately.
10. Dispensing medications and prescriptions in accordance with protocols.
11. Maintaining and updating client and patient records systematically.
12. Monitoring and managing stock levels to ensure adequate supplies.
13. Keeping the reception area and consulting rooms clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.

The Perfect Fit
The successful candidate must be friendly and enthusiastic. Veterinary Practice experience is an advantage but not essential. A great attitude and willingness to learn are crucial. You should be confident and able to interact with clients, providing high levels of service and customer care. The ability to work independently when required is also important.
About the rota
This is a part-time, permanent contract, working 20 hours per week between 8:30 am and 7 pm. The schedule includes working one Saturday morning every three weeks until 1 pm.
