The role will operate as part of the Energy and Sustainable Cities Business Line.
About The Role
Reporting to the Water Project Management Delivery Lead for the UK, the Senior Project Manager will deliver work with water companies or the Environment Agency in the Midlands in consultancy roles, with opportunities for progression between UK water, environment, rail or nuclear sectors. The role requires knowledge and experience in pre- and post-contract management in NEC 3 or NEC 4 ECC forms and procurement within the UK water, environment, rail or nuclear sector. The Senior Project Manager will drive efficiencies, effective supply chain engagement and contract management, and will have experience with Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and/or Early Subcontractor Involvement (ESI) in design and build major capital programmes. Role Responsibilities
* NEC3/4 Option A, Option C, Option E ECC Contract management and administration on the client side
* Budget control
* Collaborating with the QS on payment valuations and certifying monthly payments under ECC and PSC forms of the NEC 4 contract
* Actual cost forecasting and Defined Cost determination in collaboration with the QS
* Establishing and maintaining productive relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders
* Ensure appropriate project management records and commercial records are maintained in line with contract requirements and oversee contractual issues
* Investigate and draft contract communications and notices including Early Warning Notices, notification of Compensation Events and general communications in line with best practice
Pre-Contract Activities
* Conduct initial project scope planning, cost estimates and feasibility studies
* Preparation of tender documentation
* Evaluation of tenders
* Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
* Collaborate with contractors early in the design phase
Post-Contract Activities
* Manage and administer construction contracts
* Monitor project expenditure and manage cash flow
* Lead the evaluation and negotiation of change orders or variations
* Claims and dispute resolution
* Final accounts and post-project evaluation
What we need from you
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a numeric field
* Full membership of a chartered body such as APM at MAPM
* Extensive postgraduate experience in Rail, Nuclear, Water and/or Environment
* Line management and recruitment experience of Project Managers or Assistant Project Managers
* CDM regulation knowledge and experience
* Risk management experience
* Valid CSCS card, with Water Hygiene Card desirable
* Main contractor and/or joint venture experience working client side
* Experienced user of the NEC3-4 suite of contracts (A-C-E must have)
* Right to work in the UK
