Job Description
We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Intern currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a technical program to support our maintenance operations at the flour mill. This role provides practical, hands-on exposure to the mechanical systems that keep our production lines running efficiently. Maintenance Technician Interns will support the setup, repair, and upkeep of production equipment in a team-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs of mechanical equipment (, conveyors, motors, pumps)
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities under supervision.
• Assist millwright with work order completion
• Support mechanical installations, modifications, and upgrades
• Accurately document maintenance tasks and equipment status
• Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to solve problems and improve equipment uptime
• Assist with the assembly, installation, and alignment of equipment
• Participate in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical faults
• Learn and apply proper safety and lockout/tagout procedures
• Support senior millwrights in scheduled and emergency maintenance
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of Mechanical or Industrial Maintenance program
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn in an industrial setting
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Commitment to safety and maintaining a positive, respectful attitude at all times
Working Conditions:
• Must be able to climb stairs and work at heights
• Exposure to manufacturing environments, heat, and confined spaces
