Description Located in Aberdeen, we are looking for a Senior Project Controls Engineer to support development and delivery of a growing portfolio of projects. As the Senior Project Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the establishment and management of the programme, monitoring, control and reporting requirements to comply with the Contract, and to facilitate the successful delivery of the Project(s). We would also consider a Project Controls Engineer ready to step up. The role is based in Aberdeen with a requirement to be on site as a minimum 3 days a week. LI-AW1 Responsibilities Developing and maintaining schedules ensuring interface milestones, WBS, client governance gateways (not exhaustive) are captured correctly. Have a good level of understanding of planning methodologies and techniques and a good working knowledge of the latest Primavera Planning Software Tool. Providing monthly progress updates and input into reporting requirements Apply Earned Value Management techniques Ensure alignment of costs with the programme and resource where necessary Arrange timely planning workshops and reviews with the team Analyse schedules and provide critical path analysis and proactively manage activities and milestones Ensure the reasons for, and the factors influencing each change to the project’s baseline plan, plus the implications of such changes, are understood and communicated to the wider project team. Challenging schedule and cost variances against the baseline plan Support the integration of 3rd party schedules and data into the overall project plan and delivery. Managing and maintaining Cost Control, including labour reporting and resource forecasts Ensuring the basis of Estimates at Completion (EAC) is predicted using industry recognised approaches, including but not limited to, the latest resourced schedule and EVM productivity as to ensure accurate, reliable and consistent forecasting. Supporting Applications for payments to the client Production of weekly & monthly reports, ensuring they are validated and submitted to suit both internal and external reporting requirements. Ensure that project controls processes are consistently applied across the project and ensuring overall integration of performance information. Support governance to ensure robust cost and schedule performance. Propose Key Performance Indicators and how these will be monitored. Support the identification and implement best practices, procedure and tools and systems for project controls. Qualifications Ideally has a breadth of experience across whole project lifecycle (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation/Commissioning processes). Minimum of HNC/HND ideally in an Engineering discipline or relevant experience Effective communication within team and with stakeholders. An experienced user of the relevant Programme tools and techniques. High level of numeracy and excellent analytical skills. The ability to reconcile cost information as it applies to the programme of work. Experience in the implementation of Earned Value Management based Project Control systems, in accordance with relevant national standards. Proficient in the interpretation of cost, estimating, scheduling, programming and risk tools. Relevant experience in Project Controls and/or Project Delivery, preferably in a highly regulated environment. Able to demonstrate competence in Excel.
