OUR SCHOOL
The Avenue Infant School is a popular, two-form entry Infant school in the heart of Wellingborough (Ofsted ‘Good’ May 2023). Our children are happy, enthusiastic and ready to learn. Our school is inclusive, diverse and welcoming. Our children thrive in our warm, nurturing environment provided by an amazing staff team. Each class is well-supported with additional teaching support staff. We are looking for the right person to join our fabulous team.

THE ROLE
This role presents a unique opportunity to help address the needs of our children and their families, to help overcome barriers to learning.
We are seeking someone who:
* Is able to work collaboratively with various members of the school community, including agencies, school staff, child and parents, to be a pivotal supportive link to help overcome barriers to learning.
* Understands the importance of Child Protection and is committed to the safeguarding of children’s welfare- both at home and in school.
* Is able to promote an effective relationship between home and school life, for both children and parents.
* Has knowledge and awareness of opportunities and resources to support children and families in need.
* Is able to maintain effective and efficient lines of communication between various groups and organisations throughout the community, to ensure essential support is available for families.
* Has an understanding of procedures and systems involved in the role, including Social Services, Child Protection, Education Welfare Service policies and Reporting standards.
* Maintains an approachable, professional and focused manner throughout their work, to relay both a positive and optimistic attitude to support those in challenging situations. Oftentimes the role may involve the ability to deal with a wide-ranging audience on challenging and sensitive issues.
* Has previous experience of working with children and their families.
* Ability to work effectively, flexibly and independently, with willingness to show initiative, resilience and strong interpersonal skills.

Hours: 28.75 hours / week (8.45am – 3.30pm)
Contract type: Full time, permanent (term time only, salary paid across 12 months)
Reporting to: Head teacher
