We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist into the Link Housing practitioner role working jointly with the Highland Council and within the Community Occupational Therapy team in Inverness. This is an exciting opportunity to work within an established team of Occupational Therapists within our Integrated team as well as develop links and practice with the Highland Council housing team. Work is primarily with clients who have physical disability but experience in other areas is beneficial as we provide a holistic approach to treatment. Within the role you will be responsible for working closely with the Highland Council housing team looking at void properties, new builds and supporting clients moving into accessible housing who require adaptations and OT intervention. You will also provide guidance and support across the Inverness district to OTs and other professionals around major adaptations.
Responsibilities
* Act independently to provide a full comprehensive service of assessment, diagnosis, treatment/appropriate management, onward referral, and discharge to a range of patients referred to the service.
* Work within Multidisciplinary Teams; supervise Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioners, and Occupational Therapy students. Regular supervision is provided (including peer supervision opportunities) and opportunities for ongoing professional development are encouraged.
* Travel between various work locations and patient residences; hold a full current driving license (essential).
* Provide clinical support to senior and junior staff; prioritize, demonstrate flexibility and teamwork.
* Provide guidance and support across the Inverness district to OTs and other professionals around major adaptations.
* Engage with the Highland Council housing team on void properties, new builds and adaptations for accessible housing.
Qualifications
* A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
* Current HCPC registration.
* Ability to travel between work locations and patient residences; a full current driving license is essential.
