Overview
Clinical Psychologist - Learning Disabilities role at Lehrman Cameron Studio, LLC in West Wales. We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about working with people with learning disabilities, and who is enthusiastic and creative in their working.
The post requires a good honours degree in psychology to support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the service, providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions, working independently according to a plan and within the overall framework of the team\'s policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist assessment to individuals with learning disabilities and their families or carers. Formulate and plan interventions for people with learning disabilities and the network around them.
* Work with a wide range of mental health issues in people with learning disabilities, their families and the systems around them.
* Undertake protocol based psychological assessments of clients, using psychometric tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in care.
* Assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of clients\' problems, in community, in-patient and residential settings.
* Assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic groups.
* Work with other staff to assess clients in community, residential and in-patient settings, and review their care in preparation for multi-disciplinary reviews.
* Contribute to the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care across settings.
* Attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings.
* Maintain regular clinical supervision in line with professional practice guidelines.
* Assist in the design and implementation of service development projects and use degree-level research skills to support service development and modernisation.
* Welsh language ability is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are welcome to apply. The Health Board supports Welsh language learning options for staff.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Good honours degree in psychology.
* Ability to provide psychological assessment and interventions within a multidisciplinary team.
