Base pay range
Pay up to £89,995 plus 28.97% employer pension contributions, hybrid working, flexible hours, and great work life balance.

We’re looking for an outstanding Tech Lead, who wants to contribute to demanding and exciting digital services for the UK Government. We’re using fresh ideas and leading-edge tech to build and maintain digital solutions used by millions of people across the UK.

What skills, knowledge and experience you will need
* A strong working knowledge with a deep understanding of each layer of an organisation\'s cyber security controls, designing solutions that enable defence in depth with security controls embedded.
* Significant experience implementing enterprise security tooling and platforms in line with the NIST cyber security framework or equivalent, and CIS security controls.
* Influential and able to lead investigative work into problems and opportunities in existing processes, driving information collection and recommendations for improvements.
* Extensive experience designing, implementing, administering and supporting security products and services, ensuring adherence to Digital Security Standards and Architectural Principles on premise and in Cloud.
* Significant experience in working with the business and SMEs to define use cases and develop searches in Splunk Enterprise Security to provide security alerting across multiple tools.
You and your role
We are seeking a Tech Lead who is passionate about secure by design principles and thrives in Splunk, threat hunting, purple teaming and DevSecOps. You will shape secure solutions and influence strategy at scale.
You will join the Security Ecosystem team, lead technical decisions, drive secure development and help build resilient, high-quality services across AWS, Azure and SaaS platforms. Your Splunk and Splunk Enterprise Security expertise will guide the design and operation of secure systems that support millions of users.
This is a hands-on leadership role where your deep technical knowledge will help steer DWP\'s wider strategy. You will collaborate with architecture and engineering teams, advise senior stakeholders and ensure our products are secure, stable and aligned with best practices.

Location and working arrangements
Location: You will join us in one of our digital hubs in Birmingham, Leeds, London, Manchester or Newcastle, whichever is most convenient for you.
Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model — some time at home and some time in a hub.
Compensation and benefits
Pay: Up to £89,995.
Pension: Civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97% (worth over £21,000 per year).
Holidays: Generous leave starting at 26 days rising to 31 days, plus up to 3 extra flexi days per month and public holidays.
