We’re looking for a Senior Sustainability Reporting Consultant to play a key role in delivering Royal London’s external sustainability reporting and climate-related disclosures.
Sitting within the Financial & Regulatory Reporting team, this role supports the provision of high-quality sustainability reporting, insight and analysis across the Group. You’ll be responsible for delivering climate metrics and sustainability data for key internal and external reports, working closely with colleagues across Group Finance, the Responsible Business team and the wider Group, as well as external auditors.
This is a high-impact role for someone with strong technical capability, analytical rigour and a genuine passion for sustainability and climate-related reporting, who enjoys combining data, narrative and stakeholder engagement to drive meaningful outcomes.
The role reports into the Senior Sustainability Reporting Manager.
About the role
* Deliver high‑quality sustainability and climate reporting to support Royal London’s sustainability and stewardship ambitions
* Lead elements of regulatory and voluntary sustainability reporting, acting as a subject matter expert and reviewing colleagues’ outputs
* Calculate, analyse and interpret climate and sustainability metrics for inclusion in key Group reports, with a particular focus on the Group’s financed carbon emissions
* Developing clear, well‑structured reporting narrative and managing review feedback through to completion
* Manage and analyse sustainability data in line with internal governance, industry best practice and regulatory requirements, drawing out meaningful insights
* Act as a key point of contact for external audit and internal audit, supporting robust and transparent reporting
* Support wider strategic and regulatory sustainability projects, including implementation of new reporting standards and contributing to committee papers, research and insight.
About you
* Confident in working with complex datasets and flexibly translating analysis into insight
* Knowledge of sustainability and climate impacts, risks and opportunities within financial services, in particular, life and pensions businesses
* Experience of financial reporting processes and/or a background in accounting
* Strong understanding of sustainability reporting and climate metrics (e.g. GHG Protocol) desirable
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong stakeholder management and consulting mindset
* Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
* Passion for sustainability and tackling climate change.
